Gather the embers, not the ashes

I’m a rookie mom. We just had our first darling little love muffin join our crew and what a whirlwind it has been from pregnancy, to delivery, to postpartum, to keeping a little love fed…I was drowning in the newness of it all. Every day seems to throw something different and I started losing myself.

Before I became a mom I thrived going to networking events, conferences, mingling with all the different souls from all walks of life. And now? Total gamble. What is sleep these days anyway?

Life got me thinking, especially experiencing the excruciatingly intense postpartum experience, “how in the world do women navigate their wellness when everything has shifted? How do women have time to go to different events to explore their holistic wellness journey?”

Before becoming a mom, I enjoyed working out, being social, traveling, being outdoors, attending different local events, and so much more. And now that my bandwidth has changed, I’ve come to realize how different my resources are and how quickly they fluctuate, and I certainly couldn’t be alone in this experience.

I was talking with a gal, LuAnne, who had put on events for thousands of women across the United States. She and I connected through a mutual friend. I thoroughly enjoyed LuAnne. She is a genuine soul who is driven by purpose, vision, and compassion. I had tossed a few ideas her way and exploring options for an intimate women’s retreat experience.

Later that day in the kitchen my husband and I were chatting about my conversation with LuAnne and he started smirking. I said, “Alright, what is it?!”

One of his gifts is connecting the dots and helping me see patterns I didn’t see before. He replied lovingly and enthusiastically, “think bigger!”.

My mind immediately started racing; my 3 main passions could collide. We could create a space for women to explore, find community, and truly amplify their voices. My husband’s smirk became bigger and he said, “And I’m not talking about a small retreat. Think bigger, Honey! Like, way bigger.”

He has always helped me dream bigger in every way. He deserves a lot of credit for this, to be honest. He’s one of the biggest champions of women and wants humanity to thrive. He’s one of the great ones.

Allen continued his encouragement, “You’re talking to LuAnne who has put on events for thousands of women. She knows what she’s doing in the event space. You enjoy talking with her and feel confident in her skills. What if you did something bigger than a mastermind retreat? Think B-I-G-G-E-R.”

Light. Bulb!

A Women’s Wellness Summit. But not just any regular summit where you get talked at and sit all day. Those types of events have their place, but not here.

Women don’t have the time, energy, resources, or bandwidth to go to a dozen different conferences, conventions, or summits to explore their wellness options. We just don’t. Whether you’re single, married, have kids, hope for kids, don’t want kids, empty nester, recent college graduate, or anywhere in between, women simply need something different. We crave something different.

We need a one stop shop where we can be curious, experience something new, meet and make new friends, thrive in openness, and become a different version of ourselves. Take what you need, leave what you don’t.

LuAnne and I quickly became partners in this endeavor and there’s no way the Summit would be what it is or will be without her. Her skill set and depth and breadth of experience are vastly different than mine, and that’s what made this an incredible partnership. When people come together for a common mission and vision miracles start happening, and the miracles happened remarkably fast. From partnerships to board members, there’s no doubt this is supposed to happen.

The entire purpose of the Women’s Wellness Summit is to amplify YOUR voice, impact, and influence through exploring and experiencing different services within the 8 dimensions of wellness: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, financial, occupational, and environmental.

Now is the time to gather our embers of love, hope, healing, faith, and curiosity. Leave the ashes of the broken past and come heal with us.

Wherever you may be on your wellness journey, you’re welcome here. You’re welcome to explore, be curious, discover different parts of you, fuel your soul, and connect with other likeminded women. When women are well the entire world benefits, starting from the inside out.

You’ve got this, Sugar. Hang in there. Relief, hope, refuge, and discovery are coming your way.

Xoxo,

Carolynn
